This week, the Pacific rim island nations and territories were heavily damaged by two earthquakes and a tsaunami. The first earthquake, weighing in at 8.0 on the Richter scale, hit Samoa and American Samoa. Immediately after the quake, a series of tsaunami waves hit the Samoan islands, causing even more damage. The very next day, an earthquake that was 7.6 on the Richter scale struck Indonesia, causing damage there. There were at least 1,000 lives lost. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who were directly or indirectly affected by this tragedy. May God bless Samoa and Indonesia as they recover from this disaster.
