A little over a week ago, the quiet, peaceful life of a Saturday morning in rural Lincoln County, Tennessee, was disrupted by a massacre. A man, who had been served with divorce papers, woke up with revenge on his mind. He started by killing a person across the state line in Huntsville, Alabama, that was staying at a business owned by his soon-to-be-ex wife. He then drove to rural Lincoln County, killing his wife, her 16 year old son, a friend of the son that happened to be spending the night at the house, his wife’s father, and his wife’s brother. He then called the authorities, and was waiting on the porch of the farmhouse where the murders happened with his 4 year old daughter.
First, our thoughts and prayers are with those who lost friends and family through this tragedy. May God continue to bless you as you go through this moment of grief and loss.
Second, if you are in a situation where you feel threatened or know someone who is being threatened, please speak out. Your life–or that of your friends–could be saved through your concern.
