Freedom Is Not Free

We have just celebrated Memorial Day here in America. It is one of those times during the year where we pause to reflect on the sacrifice of those soldiers who gave their lives for our country. On Memorial Day this year, a new monument was placed in front of Point Mallard Water Park’s main enterance to honor the memory of Josh Rath, a former employee of the park who recently died while serving our country in Iraq. There is not a month that goes by without at least one story in the news of a person connected to our local community who died in either Iraq or Afghanistan. We should support our soldiers, and thank God every day that they are out there protecting our lives. Freedom is not free: it is paid for through the blood, sweat, and tears of men and women who have gave their all for their country. We should never forget our soldiers and what they are doing in support of our country.
